Karen is now teaching in Nashville!

Although I can't seem to get the "teaching" section of my website to say that. I keep trying to post it, and I keep getting error messages! Argh! Anyway -

I am now music in Nashville - at convenient locations on the east and west sides of town. Contact me at info@karenhogg.com for more details.

There will be some exciting workshops in November at The East Side Music Mercantile. Details to be posted soon...

Thinking about taking lessons w/ Karen? Read what some of her students have to say about her!

"As an adult who has tried to learn an instrument before (and failed!) I have
found Karen's teaching style to be the most effective. She is a gifted,
encouraging, and (very) patient teacher, who truly makes learning the guitar
fun!"
Christine R., New York, NY

"Karen was my guitar teacher for over five years. She is a patient and supportive teacher who is passionate about teaching and developes a geniuine concern for students personally and professionally. After many years of just playing around with the guitar, Karen was the first teacher I had who helped me stick with it and advance my playing beyond the beginner stage."
Howie S., New York, NY

"Karen is a skilled player and teacher presenting to and working with the student(s) in a relaxed but focused atmosphere. She's down to earth and cares about the music. Pay attention; there's lots to learn!"
Paul R., Colorado

"When I sat down for my first lesson with Karen, it seemed as if she assessed my level and needs immediately. She routed me in a direction that I continue in, despite the fact that she's no longer physically present to give me direct instruction. She's comfortable in many musical genres, so could relate to my particular interest (which is old-time) without keeping me too narrowly focused. I have taken lessons from other instructors, but Karen was more oriented towards me as an individual and my learning style than others had been. She was exacting while remaining positive throughout."
Lyn M., Colorado

Night Wheel CD

Yo -
I've been meaning to put this up for awhile. I played mandolin on a CD called "Night Wheel," a collection of lullabies from around the world. Proceeds from the CD sales go to Tibet Aid's Precious Seeds Fund, which benefits orphaned Tibetan children. A worthy cause indeed!! Go to this link and buy the CD!

Brooklyn Songcast Club

A few weeks ago, I participated in a very cool podcast, the Brooklyn Songcast Club. The brainchild of my good buddy, Dave Weintraub, the songcast club included many of my favorite New York writers, including Andy Hunt and Denise Barbarita. Go to
Brooklyn Songcast Club and check out the cool tunes. My new song, "Safe", is available there. I also backed up Andy Hunt on mandolin for his "Soldier Song." Hope you enjoy!
